Supporting Martin House Children's Hospice
Lazenby’s Financial Services has a long history of supporting Martin House Children’s Hospice, a cause close to our hearts. It all began in 2018 when Dee and Alan, the husband and wife team behind Lazenby’s, were invited to participate in a charity dance event called “Strictly Get Dancing” – as an amateur dancing couple! Let’s just say, for those who know Alan well, convincing him to take the stage was no small feat!
Busting Moves for Martin House
Despite the initial hesitation, Dee and Alan embraced the challenge. They attended rehearsals and put their best foot forward at the event in November 2018. Their dedication paid off, as they won the “Most Improved Dancers” award, something they’re incredibly proud of. But the real reward came from the fundraising – their JustGiving page alone raised a staggering £2,300 for Martin House! The generosity of everyone who donated left a lasting impression on Dee and Alan.
Through the stories shared by families who rely on Martin House, both Dee and Alan were deeply touched by the vital services provided by the hospice. They knew they had to do more to support this incredible cause. This personal connection led them to not only continue their efforts but also to involve the entire Lazenby’s team in supporting Martin House as a business.

Fantastic sum of £215,000 raised throughout the night which is absolutely amazing!
We invited a table full of our clients which feature in our photo’s below and everyone had such a lovely night. A big thank you to all the clients who attended for being so generous with your donations and bids on the silent auction.
We heard very heart breaking stories from parents who use the service which make is so real as to why we are there raising funds for such a crucial cause.
Dee and the team at Lazenby’s financial services are long time supporters of Martin House Children’s Hospice, attending numerous events as well as hosting many of their own to support our charity. We are so grateful for the support and involvement from Dee, Alan and their team. Over their 6 years supporting they have raised over £10,000 to support us. This incredible amount of money helps us care for the children and families who need us. Thank you Lazenby’s Financial Services, we look forward to another 6 years of working together and being amazed by the money they raise!
A Glimpse into our Ongoing Partnership with Martin House
- Since 2019: Dee has been a dedicated member of the "Strictly Get Dancing" committee. Lazenby's also makes a contribution towards the rehearsal clothing for the participating dancers. We proudly host a large table at the event, where the Lazenby's team and their partners can celebrate and support the cause.
- Annual Tradition: We're regular attendees at the Martin House Glitter Ball, where we have a large table for an evening of fun and fundraising.
- Community Events: In 2023 and again in May 2024, Lazenby's organised successful coffee mornings. These events brought together local businesses and colleagues, raising valuable funds for Martin House. In May 2024, we also had the pleasure of welcoming Duncan from Martin House, who gave a presentation about the vital services they offer to local families.
- Friend's & Family Scheme: Through our "Friend's & Family" scheme, whenever a client refers a friend or family member to Lazenby's, we donate £50 to Martin House. Additionally, the referred client receives a 10% discount on their initial fees.
- Looking Ahead: The Lazenby's team is already gearing up for the next challenge! We'll be participating in the Dragon Boat Race event at Roundhay Park next year.
